Senegal shirt issued to Sylvain N'Diaye for the 2002 FIFA World Cup opener against France (1:0). Game played in Seoul on May 31 resulted in a shocking defeat for the reigning world champions. The only goal for the African side was scored by Papa Bouba Diop. The French-born attacking midfielder Sylvain N'Diaye remained an unused substitute in the game and played no minutes for the quarterfinalists throughout the tournament. N'Diaye spent most of his career playing in France with Lille, Reims, Cannes and Marseille. Whilst at Marseille, he started in the 2004 UEFA Cup Final, a 2:0 defeat to Valencia.
