Netherlands shirt issued to Wim Kieft for the 1992 European Championship in Denmark. This away kit remained unused throughout the tournament as the Dutch side played all their matches in orange. The reigning European champions from 1988 were confident they can win back-to-back European titles. The Netherlands won their group after beating Scotland and Germany and tied their match against the Soviet Union. A penalty shootout drama against the host nation Denmark saw them knocked out from the tournament though. Kieft also played for his country at the 1990 FIFA World Cup in Italy and is a European champion from the 1988 European Championship in Germany. The central forward earned 43 caps for his country, scoring 11 goals. Kieft won the European title with PSV Eindhoven back in 1988 and the Eredivisie title with PSV and Ajax on 3 occasions each.
