The former Bulgarian International forward came on as a substitute in the 22nd minute, replacing Aboubakar Oumaru. Partizan finished third in Group L, tied on points with Augsburg but with a worse goal difference, and thus the "Grobari" were knocked out of the competition. Bojinov went on to score 23 goals in 51 matches for Partizan between 2015 and 2017, winning the Serbian Superliga in 2017 and the League Cup in 2016. Bojinov made his debut for the Bulgarian national team at UEFA Euro 2004 in Portugal. On 22 June, he came on as a substitute in the 1:2 loss against Italy. Throughout his career Bojinov earned 43 caps for Bulgaria, scoring 6 goals.
