Portugal shirt worn by Antonio Jose de Conceicao Oliveira, nicknamed Toni, in the 1:2 loss to Bulgaria in a World Cup Qualifier (1974). Game played in Sofia on May 2, 1973. The Lions defeated Eusebio and co. in front of nearly 50 000 people at "Vasil Levski" National stadium. Toni played full 90 minutes and swapped shirts after the game. The midfielder spent most of his career playing with the Portuguese giant Benfica, whose shirt he wore for 13 years - from 1968 to 1981. During this period, Toni went on to make 391 appearances in all competitions, scoring 23 goals. He won the Portuguese League title 8 times (1969, 1971, 1972, 1973, 1975, 1976, 1977, 1981) as well as the Portuguese League Cup on 4 occasions (1969, 1970, 1972, 1980). In 1972, Toni was voted to the "Portuguese Footballer of the Year" award. He made his senior debut for the national team in 1969, and by 1978 earned 32 caps. As a coach Toni led Benfica on to winning the League title in 1989 and 1994 and the Portuguese Cup in 1993. In 1988, he reached the final of the European Cup with Benfica, but lost in a dramatic fashion to PSV (Eindhoven) after a penalty shoot-out thriller. Throughout his career as a player and a coach, Antonio Oliveira won a total of 22 trophies with Benfica.
