Angelov is three times champion of Bulgaria with Levski Sofia (2002, 2006, 2007) and has won the League cup on 4 occasions (2002, 2003, 2005, 2007). He added to this record 2 Bulgarian Sueprcup trophies (2005, 2007) and was part of the squad that reached the quarter-final of the UEFA Cup in 2005 and become the first Bulgarian team to enter the Champions League group stage in 2006. Angelov was capped 31 times for the national team, scoring 1 goal.
