Porto shirt worn by Emil Kostadinov in his debut season for the club (1990/1991). After lifting three Bulgarian league titles with CSKA Sofia, the youngster earned a dream transfer with the Portuguese giants in the summer of 1990. With the "Dragons", Costa recorded 114 matches and 42 goals in the Primeira Liga, winning the title three times and the Portuguese Cup on two occasions. In the 1993/1994 season, he reached the semi-finals of the Champions League. After his stay at "Do Dragao", his career passed through Deportivo (La Coruña), Bayern (Munich), Fenerbahçe, Tigres and Mainz 05. At the end of the 1995/1996 season, the Bavarians defeated Bordeaux in two matches and won the UEFA Cup. Kostadinov became (and is still to date) the only Bulgarian to score in a European club final. He earned 70 caps and scored 27 goals for the senior national team, for which he made his debut in 1988. Kostadinov is the hero of the historic victory over France at Parc des Princes on November 17, 1993 and was awarded with the "Bulgarian Footballer of Year" trophy that same year. Bronze medalist from the USA'94, participant in Euro'96 in England and World Cup'98 in France, where he scored the only goal for Bulgaria during the tournament.
