Italy shirt issued to Ciro Immobile in the 2016 European championship group stage clash against Belgium. Game played in Lyon on June 13 resulted in a 2:0 win for Squadra Azzurra. Immobile came on for Eder in the 75th minute. Antonio Conte's squad won their group, beat Spain in the round of 16 but then lost to Germany in a penalty shoot-out drama (6:5). Immobile was not Conte's first choice for a striker throughout the tournament and recorded playing time in only 2 games, versus Belgium and Ireland. Ciro has earned 55 caps for the national team since 2014, scoring 15 goals. He was part of the squad at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil and at two Euros, the second one in 2020 being his lucky charm as Italy were crowned European champions. Ciro is currently Lazio's all-time highest goalscorer.
