Spain shirt issued to Luis Enrique for the 1998 FIFA World Cup group stage clash against Nigeria (2:3). Game played in Nantes on June 13. La Furia was knocked out from the tournament after conceding a defeat to the Super Eagles, a draw against Paraguay (0:0) and trashed Bulgaria in their last game (6:1). Luis Enrique was in the starting line up against Nigeria and played full 90 minutes wearing a long sleeve shirt. A versatile player with good technique, he was capable of playing in several different positions, but usually played as a midfielder or forward, and was also noted for his temperament and stamina. Starting in 1991 and ending in 2004, he represented both Real Madrid and Barcelona, appearing in more than 500 official games and scoring more than 100 goals. He was part of the Spain national team in three World Cups and one European Championship. Luis Enrique started working as a manager in 2008 with Barcelona B, before moving to Roma three years later. In the 2013/2014 season he managed Celta, before returning to Barcelona and winning the treble in his first season (La Liga, Copa del Rey, Champions League), adding to his record the UEFA Supercup and FIFA Club World Cup for a total of 5 trophies won throughout the year.
