Bursaspor shirt worn by Dimitar Ivankov in the Turkish Cup during the 2009/2010 season. The "Green crocodiles" reached the quarter-finals, where they lost to Fenerbahce in a dramatic fashion after conceding a goal in stoppage time. However, the 2009/2010 season turned out to be a rather remarkable and sensational success for the Yesil Timsahlar. Bursaspor became only the second non-Istanbul team in the history of Turkish football to win the national championship. The players of Ertrugrul Saglam finished one point above the second placed Fenerbahce, and the former Bulgarian International goalkeeper Dimitar Ivankov is to be credited for this remarkable achievement due to his saves but also goals. He recorded a total of 90 appearances with 6 goals for Bursaspor over 3 seasons, playing with them in the Champions League group stage. Ivankov was capped 64 times for the national team of Bulgaria in the period 1998 - 2010. He is best known for his goals, especially from converting penalty kicks. Ivankov is Number 1 in Europe under this indicator and is the third highest goalscoring goalkeeper of all time with 42 goals, after the Brazilian Rogerio Seni and the Paraguayan Jose Luis Chilavert.
