


Germany shirt worn by Benedikt Howedes in the 2016 European Championship group stage clash against Ukraine (2:0). Game played in Lille on June 12. That was the opening match for both sides at Euro 2016, with Germany reaching the semi-finals, where they were defeated by the host nation France. The right-back Howedes stayed on the field for the full 90 minutes, and swapped shirts with Anatoly Timoshchuk after the game, who was also wearing nr.4 but remained an unused substitute for Ukraine. The former defender of Schalke 04 and Lokomotiv Moscow - Howedes, earned 44 caps for the national team in the period 2011 - 2017, and scored 2 goals. Howedes is a World champion with Germany in 2014 and is one of only three Germany players to have played the full 90 minutes in each of the seven matches in Brazil. He also won the DFB Pokal with Schalke 04 in 2011, the Russian Cup with Lokomotiv in 2019, as well as a domestic double in Italy with Juventus back in 2018, where he played on loan from Schalke but went on to make only 3 appearances.
