Lyuboslav Penev came on as a substitute in the 63th minute, replacing Emil Kostadinov, and swapped shirts with a Greek player after the match. He earned 62 caps for the national team, scoring 14 goals. Penev represented Bulgaria in the 1996 European Championship in England and in the 1998 World Cup in France. The striker is two times champion of Bulgaria with CSKA Sofia (1987, 1989) and has won the Primera division with Atletico Madrid in 1996. He was voted Bulgarian Footballer of the Year in 1988.
