Milanov made his senior debut for the national team back in 2011 in an International friendly game against Ukraine and has since then earned 47 caps for "the lions", scoring 2 goals. He won the Bulgarian League title with Litex Lovech on 2 occasions (2010, 2011) and is also two times champion of Russia with CSKA Moscow (2014, 2015).
