The striker is 5 times champion of Spain (1991, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1998) and has won the Spanish Supercup on 3 occasions (1992, 1994, 1996). He is 2 times winner of the Europe Supercup (1992, 1997), 1 time winner of Cup Winners' Cup (1997) and Copa del Rey (1997). Stoichkov is the only Bulgarian player to win the most prestigious individual football award "The Golden Ball" (1994) and to join Pele's "100 greatest footballers of all time". "The Dagger" played a monumental part in the success of the Bulgarian national team at the 1994 FIFA World Cup. "The lions" won the bronze medals and Hristo Stoichkov and Oleg Salenko shared the Golden Boot award with 6 goals each. "The Dagger" was also part of the squad at the 1998 FIFA World Cup and the 1996 European Championship. Stoichkov was voted to the Bulgarian Player of the Year award 5 times (1989, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1994). He won the Bulgarian League title three times with CSKA Sofia. Stoichkov made his debut for the senior national team back in 1986 and until 1999 scored 37 goals in 83 games.
