Bayern Munich shirt worn by Emil Kostadinov during the 1995/1996 campaign. In Kostadinov's only season at "Olympiastadion" he netted the ball 8 times in 35 games. To date he's the only Bulgarian player to score a goal in the final match of a European competition. This happened when Bayern Munich lifted the UEFA Cup with Emil Kostadinov scoring in the second-leg 3:1 victory over Bordeaux in France. Kostadinov started his career in CSKA Sofia. There he formed a redoubtable trio with Hristo Stoichkov and Lyuboslav Penev in the late 1980s, helping the reds win three times the Bulgarian Championship title (1987, 1989, 1990), three times the Bulgarian Cup (1987, 1988, 1989) and reached the semi-final of the Cup Winners' Cup in 1989. Kostadinov then moved to Porto where he won three Championship titles (1992, 1993, 1995) and the League Cup on 2 occasions (1991, 1994). He was a member of the senior national team from 1988 to 1998. Kostadinov earned 70 caps in which he scored 27 goals. He is a bronze medalist from the 1994 FIFA World Cup and was also part of the squads at Euro 96 and the 1998 World Cup. In France, Kostadinov scored the only goal for Bulgaria in the disastrous defeat to Spain (1:6).
