


Germany shirt worn by Jens Jeremies against Yugoslavia in the 1998 FIFA World Cup group stage clash. Game played in Lens on June 21 and resulted in a 2:2 draw. Jeremies played full 90 minutes. Germany was shocked at the qarterfinals by another Balkan side, the underdogs Croatia, who defeated them 3:0. Jeremies was best known for his tackling abilities, he played for three clubs during his professional career, most notably Bayern Munich where he won six Bundesliga titles, four DFB-Pokal trophies, and one Champions League title (2000/2001). He retired at the age of 32 following persistent injury problems. The defensive midfielder earned 55 caps for Germany, representing the nation in two World Cups and two European Championships. He started in the 2002 World Cup final, which Germany lost to Brazil.
