


Japan shirt issued to Mitsuo Ogasawara for the 2002 FIFA World Cup Round of 16 clash against Turkiye. Game played at Rifu on June 18 and resulted in a 1:0 win for the Balkan side. Umit Davala scored the only goal in the 12th minute. This was the historic first participation of Japan at the FIFA World Cup knockout stage. Ogasawara, however, remained an unused substitute and made his only appearance for his country during the group stage clash against Tunisia. A true Kashima Antlers legend, the midfielder spent almost 20 years playing for the side and recorded almost 600 games. He earned 55 caps for Japan in the period 2002 - 2010. Shirt comes from the personal collection of a member of the Turkish squad at the time.
