Bulgaria shirt worn by Ivaylo Yordanov during the Lions' historic first victory at the UEFA European Championship finals. On 13 June 1996, Bulgaria defeated Romania 1–0 at St James' Park in Newcastle. The only goal of the match was scored by Hristo Stoichkov in the 3rd minute. Yordanov started the match and played the full 90 minutes. After the final whistle, the Sporting Lisbon legend swapped his shirt with one of Romania's leading players at the time, Viorel Moldovan. Nearly 30 years later, Bulgarian Football Shirts acquired the jersey from Moldovan's personal collection. Between 1991 and 2000, Yordanov earned 51 caps for Bulgaria, scoring 4 goals. He made seven FIFA World Cup appearances—five at the 1994 World Cup in the United States and two at the 1998 World Cup in France—and was part of Bulgaria's historic squad that won the bronze medals at the unforgettable 1994 tournament. At UEFA Euro 1996 in England, he appeared in all three of Bulgaria's matches. In 1998, he was named Bulgarian Footballer of the Year.
